Mound mill Van Himberg in Middelbeers

In 1884, a belt mill was built on the Kleine Beerze, between Oostelbeers and Middelbeers. To catch enough wind, the mill was built on hill (a belt).
In 1925, the windmill was purchased by Jos van Himbergen, son of a Kempen milling family. For half a century, grain such as wheat, barley, oats, and buckwheat was milled here using wind power.
In September 1944, the mill was severely hit by mortar shells during the advancing British liberation offensive. The mill burned down completely. After the war, the floors in the mill body were repaired. A thatched roof was placed on the body. The sails never returned.
