In 1927, a new church and school building were built on Kerkstraat in Middelbeers, now Willibrordstraat. Both buildings were designed by architect Louis Joseph Petrus Kooken (1867-1940) from Eindhoven.
The school had four classrooms with wide stained-glass windows, a hipped roof, and an entrance with a concrete canopy. Art Deco piers are still visible between the windows on the right. Art Deco elements in brick can also be seen on the facade. The building currently serves as a fire station. The windows on the left have been replaced by tall garage doors.

Louis Kooken was the architect of Eindhoven and a much sought-after architect. Together with Jos Cuypers (1861–1949), son of the renowned architect Pierre Cuypers, he designed the General Expansion Plan for Eindhoven for the annexation of the surrounding municipalities in 1920. It was based on the garden city concept, a form of public housing and urban planning that offered workers a new perspective on a beautiful and healthy living environment surrounded by greenery.
Architect and later architect Jan Beks (1895–1953) was appointed as supervisor for the construction of the church and the school. After 1930, he became known primarily for the elements of the Amsterdam School, which he frequently applied. His designs can be found in many locations in Oirschot and the Beerzen region.
