De Doornboom Brewery was founded in 1760. Due to its strategic location at a crossroads of routes to 's-Hertogenbosch, Maastricht, Antwerp, and Breda, an inn had already been established here. The brewery stood in the center of the village.

For several centuries, brewers would brew dark and lager beer, and later also pilsner. Some owners, in addition to being brewers, were also aldermen or members of the Provincial Council of North Brabant. The last brewer, Matheus Rombauts, died in a car accident at a railroad crossing in 1932. After this, the brewery ceased operations. The name M. Rombauts can still be found on the facade stone to the left of the front door.

During the liberation of Middelbeers in 1944, the brewery and the farmhouse and malthouse behind it were severely damaged. Reconstruction began after the war. Under the leadership of Alda Rombauts, Matheus's daughter, the Primeur Lemonade Factory and a bottling plant were rebuilt next to the house. Alda was married to Ad de Kroon of the De Kroon brewery in Oirschot. Therefore, the factory not only produced soda water but also bottled De Kroon beer. The factory had five large steel windows in a concrete frame, an industrial heritage from the Post-war reconstruction period.

A small housing development with 25 homes is being built on the site of the brewery. Five lofts will be built on the site of the lemonade factory, reflecting the style of the old factory.
